Hoover is one of the top nerds submitting foot score data. I can’t imagine she would use him if he had bad feet. I’m pretty close to them and use a lot of their genetics.
Most of our calves are born 65-75. Never had a problem with vigor . Our weaning weights are 700+ or the cow gets sent to town.We just had a 100 pound embryo heifer and that’s the biggest calf we have ever had so it will be interesting to see how the smaller BW heifers compare at weaning.
Thanks. I’ve heard about the heat shortly after and I was thinking about putting a straw in them and then turning her in with the bull . I don’t have any expierence flushing but it’s important to me that the cows calves regularly. I’m just trying to steal one and get her bred back.
I guess I was wondering how long it takes from setup to the flush and how quick they can breed back? Trying to keep her in the same calving window. Any info would be helpful!
I’ve thought about using him in my program but I would like to see what he looks like as a mature bull and I can’t find any pictures of him besides his yearlying photo. Interesting that they didn’t gain a whole lot more on feed vs no feed.
Mine weaned off 700 plus and have been on 8-10lbs plus free choice hay and they will weigh 1000-1200 when I get ready to AI them next month . They will finish in that 1400-1500lb.
Top is a 38 special bull and the bottom is a 38 special heifer . Have had 3 38 special calves which isn’t a large sample but all of them in the 70-80lb range. I have docile cows but these calves are super docile and seem tame when they come out and they grow

Thanks for info. I’ll try the heat patch after the protocol . They have been cycling for a few months now bulls in the next pen have been showing quite a bit of interest .
We have been using a timed AI on our cows past three years and averaged about 70% but we haven’t AI’d heifers yet and the bulls we have for clean up would be alittle inbreeding and I really don’t want that to happen so my question is has anyone used a timed protocol then 12 hours later use...
I recently bought three bred angus cows and they were bred to calving ease bulls the first and second cow calved no problem they were up quick and doing good. A week goes by and the other cow hasn’t had hers yet so I checked her in the chute and everything seemed fine 2 days later complete...
I’ve never used their genetics before but I’m going to this year. I think the marketing of their brand is unbelievable and to me that’s why I decided to give it a try. I think in most cases you will have good results with their top bulls. $80 a straw is to high for me honestly I hesitated at 40...
I plan using rainfall my self. I’ve seen a few governor calves .They looked avg to me and the other calves were catching up to the initial growth they had. Really docile and some decent length on them.
