Sherrod Farms' Angus Dispersal Sale was held on March 31, 2001 at the farm in Oneonta, Alabama. A crowd of approximately 1,500 representing 30 states attended the sale. The drizzling rain did not damper the buyers' spirits as this sale set new records for the state of Alabama. The 133 lots averaged $8,051 with a total sale gross of $1,070,790 for the cattle.
The cattle in this sale were assembled by Blake Sherrod during the last seven years and proved to be sold from top to bottom with flawless pedigrees as evident by the buyers' response. Sherrod's dispersal of his cattle herd and contribution to the cattle industry will be deeply missed.
