Cattlemen from the southern U.S. resoundingly endorsed the value of the Cow Creek Ranch genetic program at the Cow Creek Ranch Sale, October 8 and 9, 2004, in Aliceville, Ala. Powerful was the buzzword in the bull pens and cattlemen described the Cow Creek Ranch offering as the best set of bulls to sell this year. That very significant acknowledgement comes in large part because of Cow Creek Ranch's 19-year dedication of producing a uniform, reliable, genetic-superior product.

Buyers and bidders from 12 states traveled to appraise the sale offering and to capitalize on the Reznicek family's 52 years of seedstock breeding. On-line bidding was available for buyers unable to attend the sale. Via the Internet, cattlemen were able to interactively bid on, and buy, animals on-line while viewing the real-time sale video. An overflow crowd gathered to witness 291 bulls sell for an average of $2,956 and 481 customer-owned commercial bred heifers average $1,273. The two-day sale grossed $1,475,025.

Hill Creek Beef made its debut on the Friday night menu as sale attendees were treated to a prime rib meal. Hill Creek Beef Company, a Reznicek family enterprise, through unique technology, management practices and industry alliances, delivers a consistent beef product that truly appeals to consumers and offers real differentiation to retailers in quality and marketability. Cow Creek Ranch is the leading genetic supplier for Hill Creek Beef.

Cow Creek Ranch recognized the Lynn White family of Monterey, La., for their superior management efforts and utilization of Cow Creek Ranch genetics. Lynn and Dana White along with daughter, Morgan, and son, Landon, were on hand to accept the honor. In 2003, the White family bred and exhibited the National Grand Champion Brangus bull. The White's purchased both the sire and dam of the national champion from Cow Creek Ranch. Each year Cow Creek Ranch honors progressive cattle producers who closely follow the Cow Creek Ranch genetic program.

The high selling bull was CCR Sleep Easy 880N, a massive, powerful herd sire who sold to repeat customer CP Bar Brangus of Holcomb, Miss. The user friendly bull had many admirers during the bidding process and earned a price tag of $7,250. He sported classic sets of performance and ultrasound data as well as impressive PPS numbers. He had a scrotal measurement of 39 cm.

Alabama buyer and repeat customer, Fikes Family Farm of Cottondale, took home the second high selling bull, CCR Sleep Easy 419N. One-half interest and one-half possession of the bull sold for $6,500. This thick, clean-underlined bull was powerfully muscled from front to rear. He was a user friendly bull with a 40 cm. scrotal.

Two Arkansas cattlemen took home the third and fourth high selling bulls at $5,500 each. Jerry Jones, Fourche River Ranch, of Gravelly liked the looks of CCR Integrity 5281N while Kin Roberts, Roberts Farm, of Timbo purchased CCR Ultrablack 5281N3. The bulls, with the same cow family linage, were thick, heavy muscled bulls with balanced performance and PPS numbers.
