Once again the Greg Hudspeth family and their guests assembled a top group of Red Angus and Red Angus influenced cattle for the annual Gathering Sale held at the Cattleman's Livestock Auction barn in Harrisonville, Ark. The volume buyer was Kelly Swafford, Berryville, Ark. with the purchase of nine head.

Topping the bull sale, from Hudspeth Farm, was GHF Country Wide S7806, a son of LCC Cheyenne B221L and out of a Leachman EBV 6703 daughter from the famed Flower cow family, for $9,500 to Clint Berry Cattle Co., Tunas, Mo.

The top selling Red Angus bred heifer, 3JG MS King Rob R507, came from the consignment of Gross Farms, Fort Scott, Kansas and she sold to Elvin Dunn, Republic, Mo., for $1,750. She is a daughter of LMAN King Rob 8621 and out of a daughter of Glacier Logan 210. From the consignment of 3J Farms LLC, Ravia, Okla. came lot 130, 3J Joanie R137, a daughter of NEO-SHO Millenium 065G who sold to David Stokes, Macomb, Mo., for $1,700. Another 3J Farms consignment 3J MS Mimi Rodge P178, by Bieber Make Mimi 7249, also sold for $1,700 to Nathan Mast, Summersville, Mo.

The top selling embryo package came from the offering of R.A. Brown Ranch, Throckmorton, Texas and C-Bar Ranch, Brownell, Kansas and sold to Randy Kernen, Glidden, Iowa for $4,800. The embryo's were out of a choice of dams from the famed Neil Hueftle herd and sired by the $180,000, 5L Destination 893-6215.

The one pregnant recipient sold for $2,800 to Richard Williams / Heart of Missouri Farm � Tipton, Mo. She was consigned by Doug Mullings, Pleasant Hope, Mo. and was carrying a calf sired by 5L Destination 893-6215 and out of a tremendous MLK CRK Cub 722 daughter.

The five top selling cow calf pairs were from the offering of Mount Vue Farms of Lenoir City, Tenn. Lot 149, Montvue Dora P012, topped the group selling to R.W. Keightley, Humansville, Mo., for $2,500. She is a daughter of LCC HO IN ONE 1252J. Lot 152, Montvue M375 Figaro P138, a daughter of Beckton Lancer M375 TD sold to Nathan Mast, Summersville, Mo., for $2,350.

Lot 138, Bowden C-Line B44, a daughter of BJR Make MY Day 981 out of A Bieber Design 3904 daughter, topped the bred cow category from the consignment of Star G Ranch, Inc., Douds, Iowa as she sold to Lindsay Hudspeth, St. Joe, Ark., for $2,000

Topping the open heifers was the impressive lot 109, GHF Jada S7876, from Hudspeth Farms, St. Joe, Ark. to Doug Shockey and Benny Phillips, Prescott, Ark. for $2,200. She is a daughter of LCC Cheyenne B221L and out of a daughter of LCHMN Andito Tres178H. Lot 118, GHF Desireable S2659, another Hudspeth entry, sired by LMAN King Rob 8621 sold to Rick Steinbeck, Herman, Missouri for $2,000.

Star G Ranch consigned a nice group of six Red Angus influenced commercial heifers bred to Red Angus bulls. They sold for $1,250 each to Brain Peck � Marshfield, Mo.

Winrock Farms, Morrilton, Ark. offered an excellent group of � Red Angus cows with Red Angus sired calves at side, they sold for $1,250 each to Boatner Farms Wappatello, Mo. Boatner also purchased lot 186 from Vess for $1,250.

The three open commercial heifers from the consignment of Diamond H Farms, Hindsville, Ark. sold for $600 each to Steve Groves,Hope, Ark.

Lot 49 -- $5,500 � Cow/calf pair. Consigned by Josh and Regan Andre, Blanks, La. Cow was purchased by Rick and Cindy Evans, Brownwood, Texas, for $3,100. Calf was purchased by Jimmy Biggs, Godley, Texas, for $2,400.
