The sixth annual Gathering Auction hosted by the Hudspeth Family was held November 15, 2008 at the Auction barn located North of Harrison, Ark. Guests consigning to the sale this year were: Methvin Red Angus of St. Joe, Ark., Paul Angus Farm of Albany, Mo., Winrock Farms, Inc of Morrilton, Ark., Flying M Ranch of Whitewright, Texas, Harmony Hills Angus of Fair Grove, Mo., Mark Harbin of Jarrell, Texas, Owen Brothers Cattle Co. of Bois D Arc, Mo., Rush Red Angus of Jasper, Mo., Mont Vue Farm of Lenoir City, Tenn., Runsick Red Angus of Melbourne, Ark., Double C Cattle Co. of Carthage, Mo., Coffman Red Angus of Douds, Iowa, Darrell Armstrong of Rogers, Ark., Boatman Cattle Co. of Birmingham, Iowa, Swofford Red Angus of Berryville, Ark. and Diamond H Farms of Hindsville, Ark.

Red Angus:

Top selling bred cow owned by Harmony Hills Angus was purchased by Steven Rogers, Princeton, Mo., for $3,000. Second high seller belonging to Mont Vue Farm sold to Johnny Mattos of Turlock, Calif. There was a two-way tie for third high selling bred cow; each bringing $2,000. One was purchased by Greg Hudspeth of Harrison, Ark. and the other by Donnie Ivey of Brownwood, Texas.

Top selling cow/calf pair belonging to Winrock Farm sold for $2,250 with the cow selling to Joyce-Ray Pace for $1,150 and the calf selling to Caroline Fruehauf for $1,100. Second top selling cow/calf pair belonging to Mont Vue Farm sold to Don Cox for $1,950.

Top selling bred heifer owned by Harmony Hills Angus sold to Donnie Ivey of Brownwood, Texas for $2,000. Second high seller belonging to Mont Vue Farm sold to Tom Harmon of Hindsville, Ark. for $1,150.

Top selling open heifer belonging to Harmony Hills Angus was purchased by Winrock Farms, Inc of Morrilton, Ark. for $3,500. Second high seller belonging to Hudspeth Farms was purchased by RA Brown Ranch of Throckmorton, Texas, for $3,300. Selling third high for $3,100 and owned by Harmony Hills Angus was also purchased by Winrock Farms, Inc of Morrilton, Ark.

Both bulls in the sale owned by Hudspeth Farms were purchased by Michael Crows of Kosh, Mo., for $4,150.

Volume buyers in this sale were Hank Whitlow, Dustin Dewey, Donnie Ivey, Dennis Ory, Arden Bollin, Ron Wiles, Kelly Swofford, Steven Rogers, Rocky Rush, Gerald Davis, Joyce-Ray Pace and Brad Kaiser.

States represented at this sale were California, Texas, Iowa, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Tennesee.
