The Final Page Sale is the final liquidation of the mighty Camp Cooley Ranch cowherd. Females sold were pregnancies and embryos retained in 2008. In addition the semen, partial interests in herd sires and embryos on hand were liquidated.

Genesis Ranch, Columbus, Texas and The Oaks Farm, Newnan, Ga., paid $30,000 to own Lot 34, Ms Brinks Unitas 803U21 and her fancy McCrea heifer calf at side. This phenotypically overpowering female posted EPDs above breed average in every measurable trait. She is sired by Unitas and out of the $50,000 803M cow. MB Brangus, San Antonio, Texas, paid $16,500 to own Lot 30, Ms Brinks Robertson 468U58, and her special Brazille heifer calf at side. She is sired by Robertson and is the picture of femininity and thickness. Lot 99, Ms Brinks Robertson 675W13, a spring bred heifer also sold for $16,500 to RRR Ranch, Claxton, Ga. This Robertson daughter posted top two percent REA and top 20 percent IMF, and is safe to Brazille.

MB Brangus, San Antonio, Texas, also purchased the top selling Brangus bull when they paid $14,500 to own Lot 431, Guthrie of Brinks 535W3. He is a powerful Singletary son out of the $58,000 535K14 cow. The second high selling bull was a full brother to Guthrie, Lot 432, Sabinal of Brinks 535W5, who went to KICCO Ranch, Okeechobee, Fla., for $10,500. Guthrie is an easy fleshing, thick Singletary son, and ratioed 124 for IMF. MP Brangus, Waco, Texas purchased the third high selling Brangus bull, Lot 433, Lometa of Brinks 468W6. This Csonka son boasts top five percent WW and YW and sold for $6,500.

The top selling pregnant Brangus recipients were Lots 176 and 177. They were pairs at sale time with calves sired by the breed's number one IMF sire, Lambert, and out of 468P39 who ranks in the breed's top two percent for REA. The ET pairs fetched $4,000 each.

In the Charolais female sale, $6,500 was the bid price for Lot 334, Ms Cooley Limestone 1410W6. This Limestone and Jackpot genetic combination proved popular throughout the sale. Reed Land and Cattle, Seminole, Okla., made the purchase. DTR Livestock, Franklin, Texas, purchased lot 285, MS Cooley Jordan 1107U104 and her heifer calf at side for $6,200. This Jordan sired first calf heifer is powerful and thick. DTR livestock also purchased the third and fourth high selling females as they paid $5,900 and $5,400 for Lots 346 and 308 respectively, a pair of Royce daughters. Ms Cooley Royce 8644W2 and Ms Cooley Royce 520W6 are bred heifers scheduled to calve this spring.

The three top selling Charolais herd sire prospects were all full brothers sired by Cooley Limestone 8046S6 and out of Cooley Jackpot 1410M10. This mating proved to be overpowering in dimensions and EPDs. The top selling Charolais bull was Lot 611, Cooley Waco 1410W4. $8,500 was the price paid by Cavender Ranches, Jacksonville, Texas, to own this fault free, Limestone herd sire. The second high selling Charolais bull was Lot 607, Cooley Decatur 1410W7. Silver Spur, Encampment, Wyo., paid $6,000 for this full brother. Bryan Chandler, Buda, Texas paid $5,500 to own a third full sib, Lot 610 Cooley Bryan 1410W2.

The top bid price for an Angus bull was $4,500 as 101 Ranch, Palo Pinto, Texas, purchased Lot 661, VAR Predestined 7134. This Predestined son posts a $B value over 66 and is out of one of the top REA cows in the Angus breed.

The top selling Angus female was Lot 403, Ms Cooley Blackbird 404U23. She is sired by Connealy Thunder and sold for $2,500 with an Ultrablack heifer calf at side sired by Brazille of Brinks 535U13.

Volume buyers included Arturo de la Garza, Guadalupe, Texas, Westall Ranches, Carlsbad, N.M., and MB Brangus, San Antonio, Texas.
