SEVEN P RANCH SPRING BULL SALE HELD FEBRUARY 18, 2012

Rainy skies and plenty of mud greeted those who attended the 7P Ranch 18th Annual Spring Bull Sale in Tyler, Texas. The sale, held February 18, 2012, featured polled black and red purebred Simmental and polled black SimAngus bulls. Even though over 2 inches of rain fell just prior to the start of the sale making for cool temperatures, interest in the offering was good throughout the day.

In the sale, 60 bulls born in the fall of 2010 sold for an average of $2,595. Twenty spring yearling bulls averaged $1,880. The 80 total bulls sold for an average of $2,416.

The high selling lot was lot 46 selling for $4,100. Mr 7P X299, a black fall born purebred Simmental bull sired by Mr NLC Superior S6018 sold to Buddy Wilson, Pittsburg, Oklahoma.

Two bulls, lots 33 and 6, sold for $3,600 each. Mr 7P X241, lot 33, also a black fall born purebred Simmental bull sired by Mr NLC Superior S6018 sold to Dana Reed of Terrell, Texas. PMS Executive 565X, lot 6, was a black fall born purebred Simmental bull sired by ANDJ Glamours Dream that sod to Dan Ackley, Nashville, Arkansas.

Another high selling lot at $3,500, PMS Armor 558X, lot 5, a black fall born purebred Simmental bull sired by ANDJ Glamours Dream, sold to Paul Cole Ranch, Russellville, Arkansas.

Volume buyer at the sale was Danny Pickering, New Boston, Texas.

7P Ranch is owned by Joe Prud'homme and family. Tom Barker is the ranch manager. Sale consultants for the sale include: Warren Garrett, Canton, Texas, Bruce Van Meter, Rome, Georgia and Allied Genetic Resources, Normal, Illinois. Auctioneer for the sale was Mark Tillman, Junction, Texas.
