i still run a old john deere 535 5x6 baler . i tie with string and can roll 28 a hour in good hay.

run the pto at 540 this will tighten the bales and put more string on them.that could be your only problem.

a wet 5x5 tight roll is heavy. i would still get a 4wd jd 5410 or 20. i think it would be the best tractor in the long run. a ford 5000 is still heavy enough.

how much you want too spend? did you want a loader. with out a loader look at a 5105 john deere for less money a mahindra 5005 and for a old tractor a mf 165. far a loader tractor look at a john deere 5410 4wd, a 5000 ford would be a good older tractor.

have you actually used a factory tumble bug .you never get out of the truck. a good mud tired 4wd truck can load a bale in knee deep mud.i have sand in the bottoms along the creek , never saw much difference.
