Above it is another strand of wire, this is the jumper wire.

Where my fault finder is leading me...

I can’t remember exactly what it was reading when I went upwards but it didn’t catch my attention. I’ll have to check again tomorrow.

Where my fault finder is leading me...

All the other wires are checking out fine, and if I go right the amps go back down so I think the problem is where it’s crimped.. just don’t know why or if I did something wrong

Where my fault finder is leading me...

I’m still a beginner at electric fences.. but learning everyday! I know this is not a bad short but I’m trying to do this the right way.. what’s the problem here? Should I have crimped it twice? Front what I read and had seen in pictures it looked like this type of crimps only needed to be...

    Making do with old fence

How high did you place the offset wire on the existing fence and how many ft between brackets?

    Making do with old fence

The entire perimeter of this pasture is woods, mostly all owned by a timber company. Thankfully the green grass will be in their pasture and not on the other side 😄

    Making do with old fence

I use electric for a lot of my interior fences and I trust them for that, but depending on it for perimeter fencing always makes me too nervous. Maybe as I gain more experience I won’t worry as much... but for now I like to know that if a charger was to up and quit the cows may be out of that...

    Making do with old fence

I might run one strand of electric around if I feel like it needs it after I finish, I just don’t want to depend on it too much, I don’t live at this farm and don’t want to worry about it going out while I’m not there

    Making do with old fence

I’m trying to get one of my pasture fences good enough to let the cows back there, it has old field fence with one strand of barbed wire on top. Some areas are pushed down pretty bad by the deer, others not as bad. Originally I was going to add in t posts to the bad areas to pull them up and...

Thanks! I’ll check that one out. I’ve heard a lot of good about cyclops.

Best bang for your buck 110v

I’m in the market for a new 110v electric fence charger. I am only looking to spend $300 or less. My farm is 50 acres and already fenced, it will mostly be for some cross fencing and maybe some offset strands on the perimeter. It will be replacing an American Farmworks 30 mile charger that only...

    Which solar charger?

I bought the Magnum 12 UO- the one without the solar panel and battery.

    Which solar charger?

Mine is ordered so now I wait! What kind of battery are you running?

    Which solar charger?

I’m thinking about going with the Parmak Magnum 12 rather than the solar 12 model. It’s kind of a big price difference, and I can swap out batteries for now until I can afford to install a solar panel.

    Which solar charger?

Makes perfect sense, kind of a “duh” moment. Lol. I’m new to all of this. Thanks for explaining!

    Which solar charger?

Would most recommend the Parmak 12v Magnum? I guess I wouldn’t mind looking into battery powered if I’m going to get a better output.

    Which solar charger?

I am trying to temporarily fence a few pastures at the back of my farm so I can make use of the grass since the perimeter fence is lacking. My group of heifers are trained to one strand of poly tape but I’m going to add another strand in these pastures just to be safe. The first pasture I am...
