    NRA is against State's rights?

Every level of government has the right to make reasonable regulations. Cities can ban hunting in the city limits, school can ban guns on their premised. So yes the state can also make regulations. All have to be reasonable and not infringe on the second amendment. That is a legal question. The...

    NRA is against State's rights?

It is two different things. State's right are about the states retaining the right to deal with things not reserved to the federal gov. in the constitution. The second amendment trumps all laws and the NRA i assume is taking the position that florida law changes are an unreasonable restriction...

    Never Ever

Even California rejected costly labeling laws that do nothing but add cost to farmers and consumers. Beef from Canada and the US is the same, GMO and non-gmo corn is the same, no need to waste a lot of money on it. The labeling itself is not the cost, it is the animal/crop segregation and...

when do you haul your cattle?

Here the sale starts a 10 am with goats, then calves after lunch on Friday. On Monday it very different. I try to let the calves fill up in the morning and arrive just after 1. For years I tried to unload before 9am big mistake. Once I unloaded around 2:30 on a Monday and they were sold before...

    Occupy Monsanto by Mark Barnett

It is not as simple as just labeling products as gmo or not. The entire supply chain from farmers, shippers, elevators, processors would either have to go will all gmo or all nongmo. Alternative they would have to have separate facilities to segregate them. Then an audit process would have to...

    Interesting study on organic foods

    Thomas Jefferson

^ No easy solution to that. Around here migrant/visa labor is well taken care of in my experience. They are too important to risk them not coming back next year. Tobacco mostly. Most live in mobile homes with all normal convienences.

What is the best total-kill herbicide with residual?

The problem with the 1 size fits all concoction is that what comes back, and something will, is harder to kill each time. I used to use a combination around fences to kill everything and what came back was posion oak. Now i kill weeds with a broadleaf killer and let the grass grow.

    Oil Prices

The Fed keeps flooding the market with dollars. The weak dollar is good for exports like ag products, and makes imports more expensive. We export some gasoline, but we import a whole lot of oil, about 50% i believe.

    Corporate greed

I don't have a big problem with businesses encouraging us to use less costly means of completing a transaction. The cell phone stores are sales outlets for new services and products. They are not really set up to accept cash payments. They have bank lock boxes and staff at their other sites to...
