    Dart guns

Respectfully, if this is happening it needs more pumps. I’ve had this happen twice, and each time I was being too conservative with the pumps. You need a minimum (for my Pneu Dart Gun) of 7 pumps for calves and 8-9 for cows. The failure just indicates that it’s making contact without enough...

    Need advice on a Bull

Just Black Angus and Herefords here, so shouldn’t end up with any crosses I wouldn’t want. Like I said though, a few of my Herefords arrived at the farm bred, so may have a few off color calves shortly 😂 A quick edit for an addition: at feeding time today my Angus is doing great still 😁

    Need advice on a Bull

Gcreek- I am indeed a generation removed from raising cattle (kind of). Like most farm stories it’s complicated, but I’m happy to be the one who picked it back up. My grandfather started raising them in about 1947, and my uncle farmed alongside him until 2000. Uncle got killed in a farming...

    Need advice on a Bull

Thanks for saying so-I have to say I too love horned Herefords, and probably prefer them over the polled ones as well. This fella is pretty great though. I have to say around here Herefords are few and far between, my quest to add them to the farm here would probably have been an interesting...

    Need advice on a Bull

Right now I’m at 41 potential mommas out there in the field…. I’m hoping to get very close to that number bred 😬

    Need advice on a Bull

I’m a little short on good photos of my Hereford, he’s been attention deprived since I’ve been so busy doctoring and watching the angus. I paid 4k each, but I’m not going to make money by skimping on the bulls. Last time I rented my bulls and wasn’t happy with the results-this time I know (or...

I’ll add one more, he was actually the cover bull for the sale catalog 😊

    Need advice on a Bull

Thanks! I like those Simmies too-but for my smaller cows this Angus was hard to beat. Great looking and fantastic numbers 😁. I’d be happy to share one of the Hereford, thanks for asking! The herf is a breeding machine so far…

    Need advice on a Bull

A quick update on my bull: Draxxed him Monday about noon, seemed to be a little better by that evening. Then yesterday morning he was walking fine in the pen-had a little bit of hobble when he would turn, but looked fine otherwise. Looked no worse this morning, so I turned him back out. The...

    Need advice on a Bull

Well your advice is what the vet said, so I’m inclined to agree. But can’t put that genie back in the bottle at this point…

    Need advice on a Bull

He’s been head butting with the Hereford some, but not very aggressively. I have enough mommas cycling right now that they’ve been able to breed different cows and not fighting much over onesies. Called my large animal vet this morning and he said to Draxx him in case there was some...

    Need advice on a Bull

Good morning y’all, I had thought about posting yesterday, but sitting here with my coffee before heading out to feed the cows, decided I would throw this out there. I bought two beautiful bulls at the University of Tennessee bull test this past Thursday-one Angus and one Hereford. It was a...

    Sick Calf ASAP Please

I agree with the above-I love Draxxin, but I couldn’t imagine giving so much so quickly. If it hasn’t done the job-there’s not a job for it to do. I think I’d give some Vitamin B and just keep the little one comfortable and dry.
