    Diesel Goo

I would treat the fuel even if it warms back up. Part of the gelling is the wax within the diesel clumping together. Even at temps above freezing doesn’t always mean that the wax still won’t be in chunks in the fuel. Many newer diesels have extremely low tolerances as far as particulate size in...

Cummins Inc. has agreed to pay an over $1.67 billion penalty

Only thing I wonder about is why Cummins is paying the fine not ram? Ram has final control of all software!

    Question about radial tractor tires?

Radial tractor tires give you a larger contact surface than the same size bias ply tractor tire at similar pressure. Radial tires will float more and have less compaction then the same size bias tire.

    Bought a Butler haybed

Depending on year may have a key that needs to go in the end of rod to lower it. Worse come to worse take a sawzall or cutting disc lay under the truck and cut both sides of cross piece holding it up.

    Breaking loose hubs

Jack up the axle put the wedge you can’t get loose pointed down . If possible remove the other wedge completely or as far as possible. It won’t be easy but with the one wedge completely loose you will be able to move the wheel far enough forward to get to the other bolts. I have been able to...

    18.4-30 vs 16.9-34

So wich is it you quote directly from numerous cherry pict data from manufacturers to support your claims and act as if published manufacturer data is the be all and end all. But when that same published manufacturer data is used to prove you are wrong suddenly manufactures can print what they...

    18.4-30 vs 16.9-34

Guess Titan who also manufactures Goodyear branded ag tires isn’t reputable either. Both their hi-power lug and their hi-traction lug are both in excess of 50 inches and one exceeds 50.5 inches and the other is 50.4 if you combine both their good year line and their Titian line they list at...

    18.4-30 vs 16.9-34

So that must mean Firestone must be one of those non reputable manufacturers?who don’t build tires to your non existing “industry standard” Directly from their spec book. Put a 47.5 inch tires on one side and the 51.9 inch Firestone on the other and let me know what happens. John Deere must be...

    18.4-30 vs 16.9-34

Believe what you will. I will continue to believe the training and knowledge I have gained for over 20 years of daily first hand knowledge and training by many different tire and vehicle manufacturers. I have seen in person first hand over a 6 inch height difference between a 14.9-24 irrigation...

If you are so certain that the material and training vehicle and tire manufacturers are wrong about higher ply is less side wall squish. Take you 1ton diesel pickup to the shop and have them install p rated tires on them . Then come back and tell me who is incorrect!

    18.4-30 vs 16.9-34

With over 20 years of daily hands on experience and training from multiple different tire manufacturers you are not correct. Ag manufacturers as well as tire manufacturers own printed materials also say you are wrong. There is no accepted side wall spec . In the old tire sizes . Doubt this check...

    Tires rubbing trailer deck

You might want to brush up on your tire science. The difference between a 235/80r16 and a 235/85r16 is 5% of 235mm 235x..05 =11.75 mm Or .46259843 of a inch There is more variation in the height of a new tire and a bald exact same tire then 1/2 inch. As far as side walls . The sidewall is the...

    18.4-30 vs 16.9-34

Metric sizing changes quite a bit . For example all 18.4 -34 tells you is that at its widest point in the sidewall it 18.4 inches wide .and is on a 34 inch rim.nothing about how tall the sidewall is thus allowing for a wide variety in side wall dimensions. Where a 460/85r34 . Gives you width ...

    Tires rubbing trailer deck

Part of the issue is the 14 ply in addition to the larger size. The heavy ply tires sidewalls have a lot less flex than lower ply tires . So you get very little if any squat under heavy load. My suggestion would be not overload the trailer. Any trailer modifications such as add leaf or...

    18.4-30 vs 16.9-34

And in the Goodyear book they have a 16.9-34 that is 61.1 A 18.4-30 that is 61.7 So in that case the 18.4 -30 is a higher center of gravity wider footprint. That is why you have began to see more metric sizing in ag and industrial tires to increase uniformity between manufacturers.

    18.4-30 vs 16.9-34

But a 16.9 will always give you a lower center of gravity in all situations. Wider isn’t always better . A wider tire has less lbs per sq. Inch of down pressure at the same vehicle weight. In some situations that means reduced traction and decreased steer ability and handling. Wich leads back...

Where to find old equipment parts

Best wat I have found to find water pump pulleys is to go off the casting number of the water pump. From casting number you can come up with what all that particular water pump was put on then start looking for pulleys or pumps with pulleys for those years models.
