    Lime Spreader HP

A pull behind spreader doesn't need a lot of horse power to run it , but if you're going on hills you want a tractor that weighs as much or more than what you are pulling behind you . If it is a spreader with a floor chain to take the material back to the spinners , as you unload it takes the...

    IH B414 Question

Most older gas tractors don't have fuel pump , usually the tank is higher than the carburetor . Diesels need a fuel pump to keep air free fuel going to the injector pump . Are you sure he's working on a pump or is he working on the carburetor. You can find aftermarket carb rebuild kits , TSC...

    Zero Turn Lawn Mower

Two years ago we got a Cub Cadet zero turn with a steering wheel , It's a lot easier to control on hills and slopes . My wife really likes it , we had tried one with lap bars and she didn't care for that at all on our hills . Where I work we got a new Exmark with lap bars and it gets to be...

    j.d. 494 corn planter

I had a 494A planter years ago , the 494A was a later version of 494 most of the basic parts should be the same . They were good planters in their time , if you don't have a lot to plant and have level ground , it will work fine. There were a lot of them around years ago.

I have a friend that has a 2120 ford with a loader and from what I can see it wouldn't be heavy enough to handle 1500 lbs .

    Tractor question

I have a 10ft NH discbine , my 80 hp CIH 5120 runs it good but when I put it on my 70 hp IH hydro 86 it always ran warm , it never totally overheated but it ran hotter than normal . As long you 80 hp or more for 10 ft you should be ok . If your discbine is bigger , then you might need more than...

    Width of Stock Trailer?

Get the wider one , I did , it might not make a lot of difference for loading cattle , but I use it to haul my skid loader , it has a 66in bucket and it wouldn't fit in a 6ft . If you ever need to haul something else in it you won't be as limited to what fits in.

    Tractor Tires & Combine Tires

My neighbor just replaced all six tires on a Magnum tractor , I not sure what price was but he saved $2000 by getting tires made in China. We'll see in a few years how they hold up .

    reversible fan.

I have no experience with a reversible fan , but I have screens on my radiators and if the temp goes up a little I shut the tractor off and brush the dirt off , then start up and let it idle until the gauge goes back to normal.

    12V Fimco diaphram sprayer pump-antifreeze?

I have one and I take it off and put inside where it won't freeze , that's a lot easier than fooling around with antifreeze.

    Massey Ferguson - Simpson?

Me too , I've had 4 Masseys with Perkins diesels (still have 2) they are hard to beat , I have a 135 with over 7000 hours that was never opened up , it runs good and doesn't use any oil , other than rebuilding the injector pump nothing was done to the motor . They are economical and have good...

Check to make sure your clutch discs are ok then see if you can tighten them a little , if you have an owners manual it might help you in making the adjustment , if not just try a little at a time.

    After 35 Years

I still have a 71 MF 135 deisel which got new , it has over 8000 hours and the motor was never opened up , we did have the injector pump rebuilt about 10 years ago. It was our first deisel tractor , we had a 3 bottom plow and it only used 1 gal/hr , at that time we paid 19 cents/gal for fuel ...

Most UTF oils have a chart listing OEM spec # , if yours is on the list you should be ok. I used work at TSC , they had 2 UTF oils , a better one and a cheaper one , the cheaper one didn't have near as many OEM spec # .

Sprayer - do you need to run at 540?

It depends on how many nozzles you have and what size they . If you can hold the pressure you want and still have some material returning to the tank you'll be ok , you need to have some return so you have some agitation, if not just speed it up a little until you do.
