My redneck understanding is that we need to create a compost that is more fungal and this seems to be a by product of woody inputs. Dr Elaine Ingham is an authority and has a lot of videos that I don't understand.
Absolutely, Thought about getting a 3pt hitch wood chipper since I'm always cutting firewood and need something more productive to do with the limbs than burn them.
Presently I'm piling up wasted hay and letting it break down.

I'm setup so my hauling guy backs up to my pen, opens his gates and then runs the cows on the trailer without me there. I pen them up in the loadout lane the night before.
Well, we've always been told fat, sugar & salt are bad. Luckily we're starting to understand the whole low fat craze was garbage science and there's no reason to avoid it.

I raised 6 back in 2014 because calves were too expensive to eat and the kids expect some free meat. I really enjoyed it but I like raising animals anyway. Feed costs are too high now unless you can grow your own corn.
