Has anyone been to a 499 ranch conference? Is this a worthwhile conference? It is on soil and rotational grazing. I have read some of agmantoo's comments on rotational and mob grazing. I would like to get away from feeding hay but do not know if that is going to be possible especially in Jan thru March. Our place is in East Tn and our cows avg wt is 1100 to 1200 lbs and we calf in Nov. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Got the dvd of last years conf. Thought it is good. Reminds me, I probably need to watch it again. Always pick up something I missed (or forgot)before.

If it weren't so far away would consider going myself.

It is being held in Sparta, Tn starting August 17 going thru August 19th. If you go to www.499cattlecompany.com/Events_Schedule.html it will have all the information and registration form. It cost $290 dollars for the whold conference or $190 dollars a day if you just want to go one day. The deadline is June 30th after that if there is space I think the price goes up to $325 for the whole conference.
