    Irrigation water.

I've seen years past, in E. Texas that rain did not come in the spring, including Apr and May. In other news, after being turned in by the neighborhood water nazi last month, I can now wash vehicles in my driveway!!! Both the lake named after a house that can't move and the lake named after the...

    Grass ID

I have perennial ryegrass seeded out here as part of erosion control effort I seeded last summer late, in part of my yard. Been too wet to mow. It doesn't look like that.

    Rain

Thunder and lightning and rain Oh My! My big 27,000 gallon rain gage says we've gotten a little over 4" of rain here in SW Coryelle County Tx and the system is just now moving off the theNE- ENE again. So, Oklahoma Arkansas, and East Tx, BOHICA. Ought to be some good 1st cutting hay tho.

For anyone interested in regenerative grazing (especially if you are in big country)

40 ac to 15 ac/pair is quite an accomplishment. I've given you some static over time, but deep down, even an old curmudgeon like myself, I have to acknowledge you're doing good things & really, with small inputs.. Without even knowing it, the bison knew what they were doing, if that makes any...

    Bull nettle

RM43 will kill almost everything ya spray it on and keeps it dead for months. It's 44% glyphosate + Imazapyr. I wouldn't waste $$ on the RTU version, It's prediluted down and weak with only 5% glyphosate. Might work on nettle, but I don't see it listed on the specimen label. Label doesn't...

    Bull nettle

Like almost everything else, not a total kill with remedy/2,4d. Pretty high kill rate tho. 85% at least. Just don't get in a hurry to mow after you think it's dead. Give it some time. (remedy/2,4d is also what is in Crossbow but I mixed my own. IF it has developed seed pods (they're prickly)...

    Bull nettle

It's best to get nettle early. I used Remedy and 2,4d and it worked pretty good. I never had it at my place in E Texas until I was caring for a neighbor's horse and he brought in a 5x6 round bale that was cut from his other place out near Luling. P&D works too but is more expensive because of...

    Rain

We've gotten 3 1/2 inches and it's still coming down. Should move out of here in a couple of hours, off to the ENE. Tis a rainmaker for sure. Lampasas Tx 8:30pm radar

    Rain

Pouring here since around 5pm. Had about 10 minutes of marble size and under hail, but just feline & canine rain now. Moving generally ENE and E. Anyone in East and NE Texas that got rain earlier today, BOHICA.

Use of Super Absorbent Polymers - Sodium Polyacrylate

My 'guess', since he's from Central Florida, is to retain moisture instead of it just running right down thru that sugar sand Florida is so famous for. The sodium Polycrylate does suck up water like crazy but also weeps it back out, (due to gravity) very slowly. The tiny roots in forage grasses...

I wanna kill dock, thistle, sorrell..

That should/would be pretty close, as my lot is 1/3 ac but I have to account for the house footprint. Thank you!

I wanna kill dock, thistle, sorrell..

Got it. Amine will work? Any idea how much to mix with 5 gals of water?

I wanna kill dock, thistle, sorrell..

without killing common bermuda and St Augustine. Residential setting, so probably be spraying with wand and backpack sprayer. Recommendations for a 'one-size-fits-all' herbicide? Cost is no object..using my kid's future inheritance

I talked to him late yesterday. Just finished a big fence job and he's getting ready to plant sudan.

Do any of you farmers/ranchers know what this is for?

Since I was about 15. My brother and I fenced the original 124 acres in 1964-1965 while Dad was still working for Humble oil and Refining (now Exxon) . We were running cows on it in '66 for sure. (I was born 24 days before the communists crossed the 38th parallel and poured into South Korea)

Something to do with backyard composting or some other sustainable backyard bs would be my guess..

    Bermuda vs. Bahia seed

I'm lucky to have 8" of topsoil here. Caliche and seafloor below that. I've dug postholes nearly 4 feet and never got out of the seashells. :(
