Let me first say, he seems like a good bull. EPD's all fine. Nothing spectacular but a nice, balanced bunch of traits. he's a little light on milk for us, a little light on his $Values for us but really all in, it would be tough to complain about him walking your fields, breeding your cows.

Now, that being said, he has seen EXTENSIVE use it looks like based on the early catalogs i've been scanning. What is/was the attraction to him a year or so ago? What am I missing?

When I was at DVF in June, their top 20 pen had Colonel sons, sounds like Select Sires will be leasing one of them. The guy at DVF told me the Colonel cattle were really hit and miss, more like home runs and strike outs. The reason I would use him is the ability to add the Y69 cow and keep some frame size, most of her sons in stud are smaller framed.

38 special is about the only one I know that has a bigger frame also.
