More like how many acres per pair.
It is honestly about 10 acres per pair.
We are currently feeding due to the drought. What a nightmare.

Dang I would have thought more like a hundred acres or more. Where's the groceries??

The mountains have to be a be nice of a lot better to get 10 acres to a cow.

That's kind of my thinking as well. Ten acres per pair is pushing it here in my area of CA and my feed is usually knee deep this time of year.(but not this year :cry2: )
I have a hard time believing that that country ever puts out knee deep grass.

Sorry, I remembered the numbers wrong.
Mountains get 10 Acres per pair.
Here in the dry land it is well over 100 per pair. I think we are at 148 per pair right now.

Feeding and working on halter breaking a calf.
We currently have two doggie calves that lost their mamas.

Lost a calf out of this cow yesterday. Calf was breech, cow prolapsed. Couldn't save the baby.
Had a couple Dogie calves and figured we would try to pair these guys up.
Mama isn't a fan of the idea and is a little short on milk.

As of tonight here is the result. Mama is mothering him and charging the dogs if they get too close.
We supplemented a bottle for the little guy since mama is still short on milk.

A couple pics to show it isn't all rocks and dirt. Some of this is the new irrigated property we purchased.

Beautiful pics, thanks for sharing. One of the best places I have ever visited, New Mexico, fantastic food, inspiring scenery, and some of the most decent human beings on the face of this earth.

Branding day June 15, 2011. Just happened to be caught on the satellite.
Note the small group of kids to the bottom left. They were being branded by ants. lol

Hi, just wondering what part of NM you are located in. I came out about 10 years ago to Folsom with a college buddy of mine and stayed with Carlos Cornay and his son Dino Cornay on the V Diamond. Great people and really enjoyed getting to know them. I met a lot of wonderful people at branding time while we were there.
