Last week I Found myself having to drive from Kansas City to New Orleans. Took US Hwy 65 from KC through Little Rock to NE LA, I-20 to Jackson, MS, I-55 to the Big Easy. What a beautiful drive through the heart of the Ozarks. Decided then if circumstances allow I will retire to a ranch in Southern MO or Northern AR. Large rolling plateaus of grass meadows, moderate climate, plenty of shade and water, just great looking cattle country. I see why Dun and others love this area so much. This was a very interesting drive, from the Ozark Mtns. to the Mississippi Delta, to the Southern Louisana swamps. If you want to see a cross section of American agriculture, take this drive.

You don't want any of that ole rocky ridge ground in southern Mo or North Ark.Its just such a sorry place to live you just wouldn't be happy.

I think Arkansas is one of the most underrated states in terms of beautiful country. I enjoy the drive from Ft Smith up to Feyetville then the old way to Branson Mo. I wouldn't mind living there if it weren't for the crazies that live there. They all have small hands, smell like cabbage.

Yes beautiful country with a couple of great rivers. There are a group of us firefighters that have been canoeing there on the White and Buffalo rivers for fifteen years. Great trout and smallmouth fishing. Flashflood prone and have been stranded a couple if times.

You guys need to look at Jo Gee's avatar we all look just like that guy. You all wouldn't want to live in a place like that would you.

Thats the way red bull  Are you the guy printing up those bumper stickers that say "welcome to arkansas, now go home"?

Iso, I see you're helping us with the foriegners too. Crazies, small hands, smell like cabbage???

Red Bull, you are the kind of salesman I like for our no good rough hillbilly infested part of Arkansas. I have not done a good job of preserving my part of the woods. We have many that think every living thing should live in the house with humans. Trees have worm blood flowing.
If you really have to have part of the ozarks, every thing has a price.

I didn't know Californians migrated east ,that's their M.O.
We get a lot of them that move to MO. They usually last a year or so at most. Can;t stand the slower pace of things and most just never fit in, some never try to. They just try to turn the Ozarks into california and that just ain;t agonna happen. We settled here from california but we never felt we really fit in there, gun laws and people not interested in helping others out wasn't to out liking. Offering to give a hand we were looked at as if we were aliens from mars or something.

Half of the protesters are probably form california anyway.

That's how we get rid of our clowns. We send them to either protest elsewhere or we send them to D.C. to screw up and sell our :hide: country.

Now you know how my great grandfather felt. He is a full blood Osage Indian. They lived in the Ozarks till the white man wanted their land. Seriously this area is great hidden secret. Tough area to make a living but teeming with deer and great fishing. Also some fine stills in the area. No Osage Indians anymore most now are in Oklahoma, where casinos are king.

I been through the Ozarks many times, the caves there are beautiful. Its a nice area but you would think with the ridges and small moutains there it would be a very rocky ground right ?

We consider the rocks to be just young dirt.

I remember picking rocks with granddad. He insisted that anything baseball size and smaller be left in the dirt. He called them "good" rocks. I wish he was still around to ask why???
