I just randomly picked a couple of bulls advertised as "outcross". JMB Traction and HA Cowboy up. If you go back about 6 generations you will find Traveler, EXT, and Bando each 2 or 3 times in each of those bulls pedigrees.......same can be said for most of my cows and Most of the popular bulls being used now. Other bulls 616, scotch cap, etc. show up regularly. Should I only be looking 3 or so generations?

The word outcross was used to describe anything without the 036 and Future Direction bloodlines which were used very heavily and were also heavily implicated with the genetic defects that turned up like AM, NH and DD.
