    Mobile Slaughter of a Beef

What's really nice is there is no hauling, well only with coolers to pick up the steaks. For the steer all is normal, letting grain and hay in the morning, little grazing in the paddock until forehead meets .22 hornet.

    Mobile Slaughter of a Beef

Last time I used that type of operation it was a $45 farm kill and slaughter fee and a .45 cent per pound (hanging weight) cut and wrap fee.

    Mobile Slaughter of a Beef

I have had several steers done just like that, yes he had Washington plates, they are all over Oregon and Washington, probably more areas as well. The truck is simply a mobile slaughter truck, it I said refrigerated and simply haul the quarters back to the facility where the quarters are hung...

I'm just like you fence, the only checks I write are for payroll, maybe one here or there a couple of times a year. No online banking, but verify my balance daily via phone, I keep track of checks not cleared. Everything is paid via credit card that gives points and card balance paid off...

    just wondering...bovine's night vision??

I'm with the group satiating their cattle act different when I have to walk around them at night with a flashlight. I have very docile cattle and they know me very well, a simple call to them gets them pretty much where I want them during daylight hours. In the dark they are a bit more flighty...

How soon before she can/will breed back

X2 to everything, condition of cow is important. I'll add to watch your calving season window, if you want her to calve in June say, three months after calving is the limit since she carries for about 9months. 8 weeks after calving should be fine with good condition.

    Bull

I have read only a few post so foregive me if this has been mentioned. With the calf, as mentioned, you are dealing with so many unknowns and variables plus the cost of raising him to breeding size. If your willing to throw the dice on what kind of calves he'll throw, size, quality, calving...

    Slaughter question

I would also use a fel, I had a similar tractor and would yes your would handle it. Are your rear tires filled with weight? If not you may want to put a heavy implement on the rear.

    Mowing pasture

As stated mow for weed control, I assume everyone is talking about mowing with a brush hog. As far as Canadian thistle, that's a tough one to get rid of, it spreads by both a root system and seeds, unlike the bull thistle which only spread by seeds. A good broad leaf weed killer, like curtail...

    La 200

If it was me in your position I would call the manufacturer, I believe Zoetis, and talk to their vets. They will be happy to help, also give them all the details, using a dart with a half inch needle, placement of darts etc. if you plan on putting the steer in the freezer ask them about IM...

    La 200

That was my thought also, it's done and over for now but I would be concerned about how much of the drug got in the system. Just my thoughts, the steer is treated.

    La 200

You have already gotten both suggestions I was going to give you. While I have had a working pen with a squeeze chute for many years now when I was first starting out I have used a rope and tree to med cattle. I have also used a panel in a stall in the barn, penned the cow on the wall and...

    La 200

Okay, I'll say it, that really sounds like a bad idea, lots of better ways to restrain it without working facilities. But we need some basics, such as how old is,the calf and how much does it weigh? You're sitting yourself up for a wreck, the wrong dose and too much work if you plan on a horse...
