Texans; Change in vehicle inspection law

Help Support CattleToday:

Backdooring in the emissions testing requirements? Lots of rural counties have resisted the emissions beauracracy. How is a person supposed to get a vehicle emissions tested??

:)

This is a bad deal! We are being railroaded. You won't be able to drive the old truck any more.

Boogie, if you haven't had to go thru the emissions test you've been mighty lucky. My guess it's going to be the same process as before, only you get a document to carry to your registration office. And those that want to stay in the inspections business will buy into it just like they did here many years ago.

We had emission testing in az and it was a joke. Pay enough to the right person and anything would pass. And hg, there are ways to get the diesels to look stock and pass emissions and still put it back to where you were easy enough.

All of us that have deleted the emissions on diesel trucks will have problems.

They haven't been testing diesels here.

Hook, they've been prosecuting those guys when they catch them. It's a felony here.

Getting ready to tax us by the mile . You will now have your mileage recorded year to date and soon they will start taxing on mileage .

Nothing will change. One sticker instead of two.

Respectfully disagree.

Remember the seat belt law back about '85? I was supposed to lower your insurance rates. Did it?

It is legal for an adult to ride in the back of a truck. If you climb in the back seat of the cab and don't put on a seat belt, they'll fine you $200.

The legislatures who passed this law probably ride in solar power cars or pedal bicycles and would never ride in a jet air plane.

This is exactly what will happen.

Best thing Oklahoma ever did, was to get rid of vehicle inspections. Its not like they don't already employ troopers, sheriffs, and police to monitor for safety violations.

If you doubt that, do some driving with a tail light out after midnight and see how long you can go without meeting one.

The emissions stuff is just a ploy like having to change every Freon system for an ozone layer that shrinks and expands yearly based on the tilt and position in respect to the sun. Only they forget to report on the expanding part for some reason.

We already are, they will be after additional mileage tax.
With new vehicle mpg requirements the revenue is down.
The tallest hog at the trough is not liking the diet.

Its better than paying state income tax. Keep that in mind.

They already are suppose to check for emissions when you get an inspection. There are cops that have monitors and can stop you for emissions. None of that changes with this article.
