what cattle do not like?

One thing they HATE...nearly as much as I do...is people saying " this calf is OUT OF some bull or another". Calves are OUT OF cows, and BY bulls.

Bears repeating! Plus, environment - how they're raised.

Yup. There's nothing wrong with working cattle by yourself, but have someone else there, even if he or she never gets out of the truck.

I am of the opinion that 2 working together can/will get just as much done as

I won't disagree, if the two know what they're doing. I was referring to situations when you want to work cattle but the only person available to go along doesn't know anything about working cattle and isn't interested in learning.

Never had a single conversation with a cow, but I can tell you that they don't like me as much as I like them. The old cowboy trick of singing to them does work, though. I've lulled herds into calmness.

Regarding work getting done, Granddad would say "One boy is a whole boy. Two boys is half a boy, and three boys ain't no boy at all".
